Garden Green - Vermin composting

Garden Green- Vermin Composting

The earth-worms had multiplied to several in number through my first time composting. This is good news for me as I can start Vermin-Composting! For that purpose, use a Medium size Waste bin; perforate it, for aeration. Do drill, as many holes, under and around the bin. Then dump a little soil at the bottom of the bin, fill it with organic waste, vegetable or fruit peels, dry grass, dry leaves, twigs, weed, bits of Newspaper, card board etcetera. Also add a little of compost to give Vermin-composting a kick start!  The compost contains micro organisms. Mix the soil components well. Gently drop 4 to 5 Earth-worms; more if available then add a top layer of ordinary soil, before you close the bin with a lid and keep it away for composting for a minimum of two months. Prior to adding the compost and other soil mix, for potted plants, clear the soil of weed, stones and added waste. Let the soil dry in the Sun for a day.

Enjoy Gardening!
Garden Green

Passion is what one enjoys doing, be it at work or at leisure!

Though Gardening being one of my passion, I had got less time and opportunity to practice it.Of recent, I have spent about three months to practice this passion which drew me closer to the functioning of wonders of Nature. To begin with, on my home terrace I started my little vegetable garden.
Nothing great about it ! Any one could say that but that's not my favorite point of expression, as I raise my tiny little garden.

I had neither a flower pot nor the soil when an idea sowed itself in my mind to spend my free time to bear fruits. Five Grow bags, coco soil and a few seeds is all I had bought from a nearby Botanical garden to begin with. This was going to be my trial and error to raise a garden without using mud. After three days I was delighted to see the fenugreek seeds sprout. in a couple of weeks I had a rich harvest. The aroma of fresh leaves filled my kitchen! tasted Yummy! Inspired, I began to extend my garden. Thus ten grow bags had spinach, beans, bitter gourd, snake gourd and spinach by regular watering and weeding. Spinach grew quickly, they needed to be transplanted. I got five more bags and transplanted them giving them enough room to grow and yield well.

Every morning I would run upstairs and greet my new friends lovingly. Good morning Darlings! Sitting near them, watering and weeding gave me a sense of joy, that was delicious!  I began my research to get a better yield. To keep it pest free, I used a mixture of soap water and four pearls of crushed garlic and  sprayed, it worked well. The ants and fungus were kept at bay. Within a couple of months, the leafy vegetables were ready for harvest. The beans  flowered within a month and I plucked around ten beans from a single plant on my first harvest.

Through my research I got to learn more about various creative methods of raising one's own vegetable garden. First and foremost is to make your own compost with vegetable waste. A compost pit or a bin is very useful and hygienic to create your own organic compost. This helps you monitor the plants growth. Like a child's growth a plants needs its nutrients. Earth worms, the tiny little beautiful creatures of the Earth become your favorite friends as you spend time digging your nails in dirt. Vermin-composting is a speedy way of making compost at home.

Water reservoirs can be made with used water bottles or soda bottles to water your plants while you take off for a couple of days on a vacation. Water retention and conservation is also another art you learn through this process.

Time and space management is part of Interior Designing which can be applied while the garden begins to expand as per one's requirement.
One can make the garden as creative as possible by using various waste products. A Tyre, a soda bottle, used cans, anything that can spur your creative instincts ! Spend time with your plants, talk to them and watch them respond to your love and care. Effect is therapeutic as well as  Meditative!

As you improve you may even try Aeroponics or Hydroponics system of growing vegetables.

Best time of my day is when I spend sitting in the company of the young plants speaking nothing and thinking nothing.

Mother Earth is so very generous!

The smell of a new book is intoxicating! It is like the tingling morning freshness, or like the fragrance of a blooming jasmine. Small things that makes one feel bliss.  I look at my book. I look at my name standing out boldly. I smile at the struggle that I had gone through to give those abstract thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences a tangible form. A cherished dream has become a reality.  Word by word I built my book. I see I am an author now. Looking back, all the labour has brought forth its fruit.

I know,I am just a drop in the mighty Ocean of writers yet I have strived hard to become a part of that Ocean, to belong. Writing is silently speaking. I have something to say.

Those of you who are into deep reading on abstract subjects and are on the look out for a non-fiction, Philosophy-Life-Mind-Body-Spirit-Meditation-Transformation, the book is an interesting one; enjoyable and meaningful. There is so much out there in the cosmos one can reach through the process. A positive transformation  in order to reach one's own depth.  The consciousness!  Are you aware of your consciousness and if not then how to be!

One definetely matures through reading. Each author gives us something to read and know as we grow in the level of seeking, knowing and thinking and adapting. The process makes one's own Self less complicated. Can I say I know Me fully? I know me as a better Human... there is so much one can learn through another's experiences. Living is experiencing life in the basic level. Seeking helps one grow more in knowing and understanding Life in so many others percepective. As one grows one opens to various portals of knowledge that gives the satisfaction of knowing one's own Self better. The Self is consciousness.

My boat of imagination

I await my red boat with white oars,
that I envisioned in my childhood,
golden rays glided along the simmering water
welling up to swing my boat towards me,
once relax with a book in hand, my hat
perching stylish on my forehead look on.

The symphony of the twittering birds,
merges with the gurgling river, my cheeks
turn crimson as the light brighten the
orangy skyp, drawing zig zag patters amidst
the thick woods that line the banks.
Shade granted by the book in hand,is a
welcome guest

Beautiful elongated, fingers, occasionally
play with the floating vegetation; visitor
eels and strangers of the water world. A swarm
of butterflies carry me away to the
bridge of colours that slides down into the
lake of laughter where the fountain of bliss caress.

A peck in the ocean I see, could it be my boat
My boat of imagination!

Success needs no explanation: Baffled

Success needs no explanation: Baffled

Baffled

You are right, thats a lost , stoned look.
Beyond the unstaring eyes lies
a life that halted to tick!

Staring into nothingness;
living an era that has gone by
yet alive and brimming to the verge!

Enchantingly captivating, lead on
by the power of the stars, the heart
strings tugged, bliss in abundance!

Beginning at the end, the beginning yet
to bloom, the anxiety throbbing heart
spell bound watches the belief in hope!

Yes, stoned I am! As a stoned can be!!!

Script Frenzy

The script frenzy excitement is slowly weaning off and I feel drained. I am slowly floating down from cloud 9 into the world of reality; from the highs of the frenzy writing to the lows off a blank mind.
The script Frenzy started on April 1st, it a month long writing of 100 pages in 30 days on software called celtex. I was new to screenplay writing and the software. It took a while to get used to both. It was a crash course learning and writing. Sitting and writing and rewriting hour after hour, discussing and planning the plot, sketching the word picture of characters, everything consumed my whole being. I lived like the characters and with the characters, talking to self, avoiding unnecessary conversation with neighbors. The minimum pleasantries sometimes I have avoided. For a while they looked at me strangely, but later on even my snoopy neighbor was afraid to disturb me.
Once half way my story stopped and I had no idea how to continue. In the forum writing buddies helped with tips to move on with the story. Then with renewed vigor I completed my script in 21 days. Rest of the days I spent fine tuning and polishing it.
Its a wonderful script based on a dream that haunted me last year. The protagonist is a princess and she is on an extra ordinary journey to find her imaginary lover. She faces love and treason simultaneously. In the end her powers of the mind and intuition helps her in outsmarting her enemies. All in all, it would make a great action thriller.
By touching the finish line I won the Script Frenzy for the year 2010. I thank all my online friends who encouraged and supported me while the I was in a state of frenzy.

Like a butterfly

In the warm sunlight of Winter noon,
her velvety black wings spangled with mustard
yellow, cooled my thirsty eyes. I followed her
missing a step , almost falling, unmindful of
the cut my right toe suffered.
She fluttered around, resting gently on a red
rose, careful of the thorns, the Sun smiled
The green grass bowed,
But the gentle breeze took her away.
And I sat vacant in the afternoon Sun.

Success needs no explanation: Fruits of Labour , bitter / sweet

Success needs no explanation: Fruits of Labour , bitter / sweet

Fruits of Labour , bitter / sweet

Sometimes I do things just because I like to do it. I like to change things, streamline it, then enjoy perfection. Be it writing an article, or a simple pencil sketch, I like to create things. Most of the time people may not see the immediate picture of my work or the purpose behind it, its the suspense part of it that gives me the cutting edge in creativity. My idea is hidden until I bring it forth to the world in the form of my work. I must do that because the completeness of an idea otherwise will remain incomplete. To delve deep within self to know what new idea is taking place one has to be alert and attentive to it help in the conception. I like it when I take things to completion. I like it when others benefit out of my work.
It may also happen that one may tend to become workaholic, and later becomes susceptible to stress and strain. In such cases one has to sit back and relax both body and mind to rejenuvate self.

Success needs no explanation

My first blog at Bloggers!
Hence let me begin with a happy note, and talk about a success story. I have always believed in hard work, more than that I believed depending on self to get a work done. Dream first, imagine to plan, visualize the plan, write to give a skeleton to the plan, edit to work it out, begin the action through self, keep editing and imagining and planning and working till you achieve the near perfection that you have visualized. Bingo! the end result is success!
Success is pure essence of hard work, dedication, good planning and imagination and continuous editing. It is euphoric, the satisfaction lies in working and editing and giving life and colour to your imagination. The work itself is the means to an end. Half way through the work you already know your progress and the chuckle that you enjoy is worth a million.
Think not how small your work is, think how perfect it is. If it is perfect for you, it is perfect for others too.
